Where is the consulting office for foreigners?
I am from Morocco. I married a Japanese man and am now living in Shizuoka. My husband is employed in the fishing industry and seldom at home with me. I'm still a beginner of the Japanese language. Although I speak English, there are few people who understand my English in Japan, and also there is no such official organization that understands Arabic languages. What can I do if I am experiencing problems in my daily life in Japan?

The best solution is to study Japanese harder, little by little, and, using all of your knowledge about Japanese and English, go to the official organization such as your local government office and consult with them. In any case, there is another way for you to get advice from your neighbors through your husband. A free pamphlet about Japanese daily life should be available at your local governmental office. These pamphlets are written in English, Chinese, Korean, Tagalog, Portuguese, etc, but it may be difficult to find one written in Arabic. Here are some useful organizations.

1) The Shizuoka Association for International Relations (Tel: 054-202-3411) With the help of someone who speaks Japanese, you can be introduced to anyone who can understand Arabic language or any organization where you can make yourself understood in Arabic.

2) In recent years, counseling services covering visas and issues related to daily living offered regularly by visa specialists have become available all over Japan. If you find communication difficult, consult with them in writing using either English or Japanese.
