Guidelines Regarding a Change of Visa and Permission for Renewal

Question
Our company has foreign employees. We prepare the necessary documentation for their visa applications according to their requests. However, since we are often required by the Immigration Office to hand in additional documents, we have decided to become more involved in the application process. Are there any guidelines I should be aware of?

Answer
Change of visa status and visa renewal are judged totally in view of residential status and necessity or reason to reside. For that judgment the following guidelines apply.

(1) The activity that an applicant will undertake should be applicable to their visa status by Immigration Law.
(2) The activity should comply with the rules of landing permission (in case of the appropriate visa status).
(3) The applicant shouldn’t have a record of bad behavior.
(4) The applicant should have the assets or skills to live independently.
(5) Employment and labor conditions should be appropriate.
(6) The applicant should have fulfilled their responsibility of tax payment.
(7) The applicant should have fulfilled their duties related to the foreign registration law.
On applying this guideline to a real case, please consult with an expert if you have any questions.
