Tenzan Tohji-kyo

Hakone, a scenic area near Mt. Fuji, is one of the most renowned hot spring resorts in Japan. Among the resorts in the area, Tenzan hot spring resort is one of the most famous hot springs suitable for one day visits. Tenzan is located in the hills near Hakone-Yumoto, the terminal station of the Odakyu line. Tenzan is an authentic hot spring where you can enjoy Hinoki (Japanese cypress) and open air baths as well as soba and other varieties of Japanese cuisine. Foreigners will be moved by the quiet Japanese atmosphere. To get there takes about two hours by train from Tokyo.

Two types of one day hot spring facilities are available.

Ikkyu (Facilities for hot spring only. Hinoki bath and open air bath)
Admission fee: Adults 1,000 yen Children 630 yen (Children from 1 year of age to those in the final year of elementary school)
Opening hours: 11:00 ~ 19:00 Closed at 20:00 Sat., Sun. and national holidays open until 20:00.
Closed at 21:00 Closed: Thursdays

Tenzan (5 baths for men and 6 baths for women, restaurants and rest area)
Admission fee: Adults 1,200 yen Children 630 yen (Children from 1 year of age to those in the final year of elementary school) *Required also for those using dining facilities only.
Opening hours: 9:00 ~ 22:00 Closed at 23:00
Closed: For approximately 5 days in the middle of December.

[Notice]
Patrons are not permitted to enter baths with a towel or swimming suit. Tattoos are also not permitted. Smoking and use of mobile phones and cameras is also banned in all facilities.

Access
Get off at Hakone-Yumoto station, Odakyu Line. A Microbus service from Hakone-Yumoto station to Tenzan Tohji-kyo is available.
