School Outline and Education Method
Osaka International University is governed by the Educational Corporation Osaka International Gakuen (Head Office in Moriguchi-shi, Osaka), established in 1929 as a precursor to the Imperial Women’s High School. For the last 80 years their foundation has been one of a “well—rounded educational” spirit, focusing on catching up with society’s needs. It is now a university comprising four colleges and eight departments, as well as a computer center and a research institute, involved in continuing education and research activities. And, to further promote globalization, they have arranged international exchange agreements with 33 overseas schools (as of March l, 2010) in 13 distinct countries and regions, while continuing to search for  new educational opportunities such as increased foreign student enrolment, and short— to long—term student exchanges.

Lesson Features
Students will receive a completion certificate (diploma) upon successfully obtaining a minimum of 28 credits during their stay. In studying Japanese, a maximum of 10 students per class will learn grammar, reading, composition, conversation and vocabulary (all taught in standard Japanese). To more widely broaden the student’s Japanese experience, and to give them a deeper understanding of their adopted culture, other subject available for study include: “Traditional Culture”, “Lecture on Japanese situation(?)” and “Contemporary Japanese Society and Culture.”

About Activity

So let’s enjoy speaking with the friendly Osaka students! Student's Voice

In April when cherry blossoms are in full bloom, I anxiously came to Japan. However, with the warm support of the staff of International Exchange Center I soon calmed down. I enjoyed different daily experiences and soon became friendly with other international students, speaking Japanese and studying together. I also began to better understand Japan through my lessons on traditional Japanese culture.

Teachers Voice

At the School of Japanese Studies for Foreign Students, the Japanese skills required to successfully enter Japanese universities and graduate schools are taught. Included with Japanese lessons based on each student’s abilities, students will also take “Traditional Culture Study”, giving them the opportunity to better understand Japan, its people and culture. Osaka is well—known as a friendly and fun city, where it won’t take long for you to make new, Japanese friends!
