School Outline and Education Method
Established in 1988 and located in Kobe’s former foreign resident area, this language school has 22 years of experience teaching Japanese, as well as cross-cultural communications, to international students from Asian and Western countries. Students are free to enroll in classes at anytime during the months of April, July, October and January, and can study on a short-term basis (one, two or three month courses), or long-term (over two years), either privately or specially tailored courses.
The school’s name, “COMMINICA” is derived from the Latin word communicare, meaning to impart, share, or make common. Through group interaction with fellow students and outside organizations, including NPOs and local Japanese students, they aim to share not only their values, and beliefs, but to help students discover parts of themselves they didn’t know existed.

Lesson Features
The school follows three simple study guidelines – ‘learn Japanese’, ‘learn in Japanese’ and ‘learn how to study Japanese’, with emphasis on the importance of having students be able to effectively communicate and express themselves in Japanese. At the Beginner level, students learn from both the textbook and in regards to any subjects they show interest in. Furthermore, from the start students are also offered career counseling in relation to their field of study. For those interested in pursuing higher education, courses specifically geared toward graduate school and university entrance exams are also available, that will prepare students for exams as well as a rewarding college life.

About Activity
Along with Japanese lessons, several times a month students can participate in other, extra-curricular activities. Therefore, in learning Japanese and experiencing Japanese culture, students gain better and more practical study experience. Interested students are invited to check out the Communica Institute blog pages.

Student's Voice

I was happy to have studied at Communica Institute for a year. The teachers took good care of us and I am still in touch with my classmates, even after the graduation. Communica gave me a joyful life in Japan, with many, various experiences. I believe that Communica is a good partner to foreign students.
( S.I from Korea , graduated in 2008)
Living in Japan was the best part of my life because I had various experiences, from which I learned many things, and, I couldn’t get over my joy for them. I was also happily surrounded by warm-hearted teachers, friends, my home-stay family and their neighbors. After returning to my home country, I kept in touch with them, made good use that Ilearned in Japan, and hope to do my best.
( from Philippines, graduated in 2008 )

Teachers Voice

Communica Institute selects a theme every year and pursues it as part of their educational curriculum. One such theme - “I Am a Hero” - encourages students to become a hero in any field they choose. Ultimately, many heroes are born in class, during sporting events, at speech contest or through voluntary activities. The experience of being a hero gives students confidence and makes their student life truly fruitful. You could be their next hero!!
