The Threat of the World’s Largest Religion

Religion has been the cause of many conflicts around the world including, some say, the current war in Iraq. However, Professor MUNEMOTO Shinji, an expert in studies of religious conflicts, warns that a real religious war has already started. Hiragana Times CIA interviewed the professor, who is scheduled to publish a book “The Threat of the World’s Largest Religion” soon.

CIA: The world’s largest religion means Christianity or Islam?

Prof.: No. I am referring to a much bigger religion, one that will rule the world. In fact, the people behind this religion are already ruling the world.

CIA: Then, that must be Buddhism or Hindu?

Prof.: No, it is not them either. I cannot reveal the name before my book goes on sale. For your information, it is not the Japanese Shinto religion, nor the Buddhist Souka-Gakkai group. However, the believers of this religion exist in every country of the world. Actually, you may refer to it as a religion that has newly risen.

CIA: Can this religion make people happy?

Prof.: Of course. This religion makes people happier than any other religion, but in the same way as other religions, not everyone who believes will be happy, in fact some will be very unhappy because of their beliefs.

CIA: Isn’t that something like fortune telling?

Prof.: No. it is more certain than that and their activities are acknowledged by all countries. Generally, many religious believers are weak people such as poor people and those who have suffered from disease, but the peculiar characteristic of this religion is that more rich people believe and are very faithful to the religion.

CIA: Why is that so threatening?

Prof.: Because this religion often makes other people unhappy in the process in which the followers try to attain a better life, and such deeds are allowed. With this principal, the religion is trying to change the beliefs of those “unblessed people” who basically belong to the old religions. This is a real problem. As their values and thoughts are different from the followers of old religions that place importance on spiritual satisfaction, an unseen religious war has actually already started.

CIA: Who on earth is the founder?

Prof.: There is not just one founder. There are about 200 great founders, whose total wealth is equivalent to that of the 4 billion poorest people in the world (total population: 6.6 billion people). The more this religion prevails, the more the income gap between rich and poor will widen. But no one can stop this religion expanding because without being aware of it you have already been automatically forced to become a believer of this religion.

If you look at this religion carefully, you will find it dangerous since it drives the minds of believers mad. The day may come that the money craving religion is regarded as a fake religion like many other newly risen religions.
