Any Woman will say "Yes!"

February 14 is St. Valentine's Day. Last year the Korean TV drama "Winter Sonata" became a boom among Japanese women and pure love has now been revalued in Japan. The CIA interviewed Professor Chateley, a world famous love psychologist, about love and the "Winter Sonata" boom.

CIA: Professor, do you think the people married after feeling pure love can become the happiest couples?

Prof.: No! According to the statistics, the majority of those couples end up in misery.

CIA: Is that right? Why?

Prof.: Unfortunately, the Jekyll and Hyde syndrome consisting of a pure heart and an ugly heart coexist in every human being. When people are in love, each partner tries to show only their good parts to attract their partner. As a result, both will see only the good parts of their partner. It is just like when you are moved by seeing the sports news on TV that is edited to show only the fantastic scenes. In fact that action is the proof of your ugly hearts. After marrying they are released from acting like this and the actions of their ugly hearts come to the surface. The more they acted due to pure love, the bigger the gap - and the disappointment - becomes. Pure love occurs when we associate with a partner who is hiding the ugly side of their human nature.

CIA: But I think there are lots of pure hearted people ...

Prof.: Any pure hearted person will change when money or a good offer is put in front of them. For instance, if an elderly man asks a young woman to stay overnight with him, the woman will fool him. But if he says he will pay her one billion yen for it, any pure woman will take it seriously. If she has a boyfriend, she will consult with him and try to take this chance. Her boyfriend must advise her to take it. If she refuses, he will be disgusted with her inflexibility rather than appreciating her purity. After all, the pure human heart quickly disappears when tempted by special offers.

CIA: Well then, does the reason that "Winter Sonata" became a boom mean Japanese women longed for pure love as the result of a counter action of their ugly hearts?

Prof.: It's not true. It is the instinct of human beings that they want to leave more beautiful or powerful descendants. Rich elderly men who pay one billion yen will almost naturally limit their affections to beautiful young women. Look at the viewers of the "Winter Sonata." Frankly speaking, these women are middle-aged or older, aren't they? It may be rude to say this, but rich men will not even pay 10,000 yen to sleep with them. These women have passed their physical peak and have fewer chances to find sexual satisfaction. They can now feel their existence only in human purity. If they had the physical attractiveness of younger women, they would be busy luring men and the "Winter Sonata" boom would never have happened.

CIA comment after interviewing
If the man paid 100 million yen rather than one billion yen, what would you do? Of course, you will take it. How about 10 million yen? You will accept that, won't you? Then, how about one million yen? You'll consider it. One hundred thousand yen? You wouldn't take this, right? After all, your pure heart is affected by the amount of money, right?
