The Less Talent, The More Happiness - Interview With a Former Great Actress

*Hiragana Times CIA(Cynically Insulting Agency)

She was a beautiful actress who was once in the spotlight. She appeared in movies and on TV and led a fantastic private life that included having love affairs with many celebrities. Although she is now retired and stays away from the mass media, she recently allowed Hiragana Times CIA to interview her. She did not permit us to publish her name or nationality, but was very willing to tell us her true feelings.

CIA: As you have spent your life in a way that all women long for, what exactly do you feel about your life?

Actress: I have been very unhappy.

CIA: I can't believe it. How come? You are beautiful and talented, and lived an amazing life. Why have you been unhappy?

Actress: Everyone looked at me. In order to make them pleased, I had to dress well and pay attention to my body and my words. You must have seen the movie "Roman Holiday"? Even if I wanted to eat a hamburger, I couldn't just go and buy one. I had to happily eat French cuisine and drink wine at a fancy restaurant, accompanied by a handsome man to keep up my image in front of everyone. Everyone was always watching me and I felt like a criminal under supervision.

CIA: But, you could have had a relaxed time at your huge house, couldn't you?

Actress: No, not at all. I received lots of mail from fans and interview requests from the media, so I couldn't relax. As I couldn't ignore these people and maintain my position in society, I exhausted myself. Paparazzi who targeted celebrities were always roaming around, so I couldn't even go outside into my garden. I hired house guards but felt like I was in jail.

CIA: There were many rumors of your affairs with handsome men, but you have remained single. Why?

Actress: Most of those stories were created by the media to increase their circulation. As those men and myself could maintain our popularity by using the fake stories, we acted as if they were true.

CIA: If you married now, what type of man would you prefer?

Actress: An ordinary man. It is the best if one can do what one likes whenever one wants. People engaged in the entertainment business make lots of effort to please ordinary people. Actually, ordinary people are king and we are their slaves.

CIA: What type of person would you want to be if you could be born again?

Actress: One of my friends has a very nice character, but she can't do anything special. She can't drive, but her friends pick her up when she goes shopping. She can't operate a PC, but her friends write e-mails and search the Internet for her when it is necessary. She can't speak any foreign languages, but her friends translate for her when there is a need. Her friends know she can do nothing so she receives asistance from them. If you observe her situation carefully, you will notice she is the boss who lets her 'staff' do her work. She has plenty of time to enjoy movies, reading, sports and traveling. Since I was an actress with my beauty as my sales point, I cannot show my aging appearance to the public. If I could be born again, I would definitely want to be a talentless person with no beauty.

CIA post-interview comment
Everyone, we are happy to be born without beauty and talent. God may have created us equally ...
