The exhibition, “From Eery to Endearing: Yokai in the Arts of Japan” will be held at the Edo-Tokyo Museum in Sumida City, Tokyo from July 5 to August 28. Yokai – ghoulish creatures that have been loved throughout the ages in Japan – are introduced through first-class works of art that include national treasures and important cultural properties. The exhibition brings together yokai miscellanea spanning a period of 4,000 years from clay figures made in 2,000 B.C. to modern day “Yokai Watches.”
