Kota Kite Flying Festival

This annual kite flying festival is held in January in Kota Town, Aichi Prefecture. Here 150 different kinds of kites, both small and large – some over 16 square meters in size – are brought together from all over Japan and are flown. Other events taking place include a wadaiko Japanese drum performance.
